Balloon Glow

More balloons, an event called the AfterGlow, followed by fireworks. We got to the field about 6:00 PM, had a bite to eat, nachos, a burrito and some kind of bubbly drink -- kept me up a good part of the night.

Most of the participants in the glow were special shapes and they are fun to watch. Once inflated, the propane burners are lit ever so often to keep the balloon full of hot air, and of course lighting up the balloon in the process.

The fireworks turned out fine as well. I had never really tried to photograph fireworks so I experimented with some settings and was disappointed. The shutter speed seemed to slow, everything was blurry. I'll keep trying and someday figure it out.

All in all it was a good evening. And to top it off we had a wild bus ride back to the RV park. That woman was one aggressive bus driver. I told her I was planning to buy a race car and wondered if she would be interested in driving for me; she allowed as how that might be fun.
